If you have been looking for a sweetener that feels closer to what your grandparents used — something that has not been bleached, chemically treated, or stripped of everything that made it good — Dhampur Green Certified Organic Khandsari Desi Khand is exactly that. Semi-crystalline, naturally golden, and free from chemicals and sulphur — this is the kind of sweetener that belongs in a kitchen where food is made with thought.
What sets this Desi Khand apart is that it is genuinely certified organic. The sugarcane used to produce it was grown on certified organic farms — no synthetic pesticides, no chemical fertilisers, nothing artificial touching the crop or the soil. And the processing keeps that promise. No chemicals, no sulphur, no whitening agents. What you get in this jar is pure Khandsari sugar, made the clean way, and nothing else. For anyone who is already careful about choosing organic, this is simply the organic version of the traditional sweetener Indian kitchens have always known.
The flavour is warm, mild, and naturally earthy in a way that refined sugar simply is not. It sweetens your morning chai without overpowering it, dissolves beautifully into cold sharbat and lassi, and brings a gentle depth to kheer, halwa, and Indian mithais that white sugar can never quite replicate. Because it is semi-crystalline and fine in texture, it blends in easily — no hard lumps, no uneven sweetness, no fuss. Whether you are making one cup of tea or a large batch of sweets for a festival, you get consistent, honest sweetness every time.
The 800g jar is practical for regular home cooking — large enough to last through everyday use, easy to store, and simple to scoop from. Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and it stays fresh and free-flowing. Use it anywhere you would use sugar or khand, and the result will be cleaner in ingredients and richer in flavour. This is sweetness made honestly, by Dhampure Speciality Sugars Limited — a company that has been working with Indian sugarcane farmers for over 30 years.
