Recipe for making Fondant at home
- 1 1/4 cups invert syrup
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 lb Fondant Sugar
- assorted food coloring
Combine invert syrup, shortening, and salt in large bowl. Slowly mix in fondant sugar until stiff dough forms. Remove fondant from bowl onto flat surface dusted with some fondant sugar. Knead until fondant is soft and smooth. Tint fondant with desired food coloring. For chocolate fondant, add 1 cup of cocoa powder to the fondant sugar.
